Yellowstone - Memorial Day Weekend

We spent three nights camping in Yellowstone - our longest camping trip to date.  We spent one night with friends, then stayed by ourselves when they returned home Saturday morning.  We had a "scenic day," a "wildlife day," and a "thermal feature day." This photo is of the Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. 328 steps to the bottom of Uncle Tom's Staircase. Brave Girls!
Our little friend, Lina the Grouse.  She was removed by a ranger later that evening, but the kids had fun petting her during the several hours she hung around our campsite.

 Pearl Geyser and Sadie Pearl.
Elisa used the map to lead me to this geyser. She was proud of her navigating skills.
Erik said this was the coldest water he had ever been in before.

A 1.2 mile hike up a steep hill brought us to a private hot springs for a picnic lunch.

Ice Cream at Old Faithful to cap off the weekend.
